How do you pronounce the word “lien”? Attorney Ben Thompson has published an article providing a general overview of liens, including types of liens, sources of liens, and methods for enforcing liens. It also takes the position that “lien” should be pronounced with one syllable, not two. The articles is published in the May/June 2012 issue of The Nebraska Lawyer, the official publication of the Nebraska State Bar Association. The article can be found here: You Say Lee-en, I Say Leen: Demystifying Liens So That More Secured Debts Are Paid. Ben Thompson’s general practice includes, but is not limited to, enforcement of liens in Nebraska.
